THE ELECTRIC GRANDMOTHER Are Two Pretty Kooky Mavericks From Washington Who Released A Pretty Kooky Album

19 April 2023

Band: THE ELECTRIC GRANDMOTHER (Washington)

Who: A couple and their lives, coming together to make humorous, surreal, post-modern music and imagery. Inventors of the genre “Sitcom-Core.” Purveyors of love and vulgarity.

TUTV: One of the weirdest longplayers I heard in a while. Weird in a pretty cool way
that is. These two Washington mavericks throw a spicy party not only for themselves but
also for everyone who wants to have a wicked ball, and to check out his/her worst dance moves with a kooky music mix of everything, eh, kooky and last but not least, to get drunk on Budweiser Light.

Video for ‘Cocktails and Dreams’

Expect synth-drum tunes played upside down (Rewind / Cocktail and Dreams / Every Episode), crippled disco stompers (Mr Ha Ha / Miami Would Bave Nice / Me Made It / Back Up), peppery punk punches (Blood Turkey / I Signed), daft song titles (Pass Gas in the Name of Kevin Costner / Tom Cruise is the Most Important Celebrity), helium voices, free spaghetti advice, no Bowie covers, a devil song (I Signed), and lots of other sonic and lyric claptrap.

Half of the songs are no longer than Ramones flare-ups, so you’ll need to press the repeat button on… repeat to keep the party going until you have no clue what actually happened.

Time to get pissed.
