New striking strokes
17 May 2023
Band: KINGFISHER
Who: Swedish indie rockers
New single: STAND BACK IN
The track is the climax of four years of music, the summit of a journey.
Written in 10 minutes, it is a guitar riff born 10 years ago distilled by a
drum groove as old as humanity. The song was there, waiting for us,
using us as vessels, expecting to be heard.
The artwork of the single (see above) relates and honors an endangered animal
species of South America: the Golden Poison Frog. This goes in line with our vision
to enhance wildlife protection, biodiversity and environmental awareness.
TUTV: Kingfisher combine the 60s garage rock of The Sonics and the late great
Alex Chilton‘s Big Star band with jangly resonance of modern-day bands such as
NYC’s heroes The Strokes and the early work of Scottish heroes Teenage Fanclub.
Throwing in an unexpected rap fragment is totally cool and gives this rollin’ ripper
a special edge. Bingo!
Let’s talk like old times, you and me
I’ve been missing how we used to be
Now you’re distant truthfully
Get the rhythm back like one, two and three
So, stand back in, stand back in
Watch/listen.
Also st(r)eaming on Spotify.
