One-Chord Garage Punk Rock With TV’S DANIEL And Their New Red-Hot Single

New striking strokes

18 May 2023

Who: Austin, TX-based rock unit formed in 2017 by seasoned musician Daniel Fried.
After years of collaborating with other people, he decided he wanted to create his
own band, his own sound, with his own principles.

The lead single of their upcoming debut album, named Never Change.
It arrives on 1st September via Wild Honey Records.

Fried:It was the first song I ever wrote for TV’s Daniel, before the world imploded and built itself back again. I wanted to challenge myself and see if I could write a good song using only one chord. Part of the impetus of starting a solo band is having a project where no one can tell you “no”. So, I tried to mix as many influences as I can into the song and filter them through my brain and years of playing in other bands. Foggy Notion meets early Psychedelic Furs, with some great guitar work by Jason Smith, reminiscent of the Soft Boys and Television. Not bad for one chord. Lyrically, the song is about readying yourself to be open for love. Not getting hung up inside your head and being able to appreciate what’s in front of you, or what’s sneaking up behind you”.

TUTV: This is garage punk-rock at its red-hot-blooded best. This steamed-up
sucker-punch storms full tilt from the get-go and never slows down. Riff-freaky
guitars, a boisterous drum/bass tandem and flipped-out vocals combine for a
striking stunner you can play between 60s heroes The Sonics and psychobilly
werewolves The Cramps . Blistering thunder and lighting entertainment to go
apeshit to.

Hells bells!

Press play.
Go mental.
