Americana Songsmiths MIDWESTERN DIRT Bewitch With New Melancholic Pearl ‘THE AARON WATERS SHOW’

12 July 2023

Band: MIDWESTERN DIRT
Who: Formed in 2017 as a solo studio project by singer-songwriter
Patrick Kapp. So far they released 3 albums and number 4 is coming up.

New single: THE AARON WATERS SHOW
The track’s title takes its inspiration from the annual Air and Water Show
occurring every summer in Chicago. It’ll feature on their new upcoming LP,
named Twilight at a Burning Hill, out on 18th August.

TUTV: Imagine The War On Drugs’ sparkling guitarist Adam Granduciel teaming up with Wilco‘s maestro Jeff Tweedy for a melancholic summer groover. Cool, right? Absolutely.

From the moment the sepia-resonating guitar/drum/vocals enter your headphones this Americana pearl feels like a refreshing breeze while the sun makes your hair melt (which happens in my country Belgium these days). It’s not really a happy song, but hey that’s life. Joy, pain, love, hate, fun, boredom. As long as human emotions are embedded in bewitching tunes like this I’m all ears.

The summer’s here
You know what that means
Mosquito bites and sunscreen
Explosions in the sunless sky
Reminding me we’re all gonna die again
