MICHAEL PHILIP JAGGER was born
on 26 July 1943 in Dartford, Kent, UK.
Happy 80 to one of the greatest frontmen/songwriters
of one of the greatest rock and roll bands in music history.
For the occasion, English writer/journalist Philip Norman
wrote a biography. It was released last month.
“Jagger‘s career has spanned over six decades, and he has been widely described as
one of the most popular and influential frontmen in the history of rock music. His distinctive voice and energetic live performances, along with Richards’ guitar style, have been the Rolling Stones‘ trademark throughout the band’s career. Jagger gained notoriety for his romantic involvements and illicit drug use, and has often been portrayed as a countercultural figure.”
“Norman describes in this book the fascinating life story of Mick Jagger. Norman tells how
Mick grew up in a sleepy suburb of London. We see how he is introduced to the blues, and
how the young, shy Mick accidentally bumps into his old school friend Keith Richards in London. Norman talks about Mick‘s friendship and rivalry with Keith, his countless relationships with the most beautiful women, his phenomenal business talent and his boundless love for music. Mick Jagger is therefore more than a biography, it is the compelling story of half a century of pop history.”
