As announced recently MERCURY REV – with key members Jonathan Donahue and Sean “Grasshopper” Mackowiak – have a new LP, their first in 9 years, called Born Horses, out
on September 6.

The band have cited the late beat poet Robert Creeley
as one of the inspirations while making the album.

Following the mellow lead single Patterns we get another
moony one, partly spoken, titled ANCIENT LOVE.

MR: “What we are today comes from our thoughts and perceptions
of yesterday, and our present thoughts build our life for tomorrow.
Our life is the creation of our mind which originates from ancient love.”
