Toronto-born, London-based puzzling songstress TESS PARKS recorded/released
two collaborative albums with Anton Newcombe, mastermind of retro psych squad
The Brian Jonestown Massacre and did her own thing for the first time in 2013 Blood
Hot and And Those Who Were Seen Dancing in 2022.
She has her 3rd LP, titled Pomegranata
ready for the world on October 25.
Press info: “Longing. Heartbreak. Levity. Joy. Being filled with love for all things.
All of these sensations flow at once through Canadian singer-songwriter Tess Parks’
new album, Pomegranate. Re-establishing Parks as the consummate artist-observer against a swirling nouveau-delic backdrop.”
Following mellow lead single Koalas Parks gives us a 2nd taster.
Parks: “In 2022 I was suffering from severe PTSD at this point in my life, and to be honest,
I couldn’t bring myself to listen to the song properly until early February. When I finally did, it was one of those moments when you hear a song and you know it’s going to be one of your favourite, most cherished songs for your whole life. It’s the most beautiful music I’ve ever heard.”
CROWN SHY remembers me of seeing Parks perform in a cloud of dry
ice, a couple of years ago in Belgium with her shadowy voice coming out
of a London-like smog (where she lives). Touching. Enticing.
