Tallulah Sim-Savage (vocalist/guitarist): “This was the first song we wrote for the album, we rewrote it in so many different ways and it ended up pretty similar to the first version, which seems to be how it goes. It’s a song where I am writing about myself from someone else’s point of view, being selfaware of my bad – sometimes destructive – traits.”

TUTV: I said it before and will say it again. Hot Wax makes me think of Hole in their early days, before becoming a mainstream band. Comparable unbridled gusto, fervent flair, and grungy rippers like this new one Wanna Be A Doll. A pumped-up sucker punch juiced with exhilarative guitars, a steadfast drum/bass alliance and fired-up vocals. Razzle-dazzle score.

Last May HW played as support act for LA’s blues punk rock duo Deap Vally (on their
farewell tour) in Belgium. That’s where I got impressed by their inflammable vitality.
