Band: WEDNESDAY
Who: Much lauded indies
from North-Carolina.

Track: WOUND UP HERE (BY HOLDIN ON)
New single from their forthcoming, 6th album,
named Bleeds, out on 19 September.

Karly Hartzman (frontwoman/songwriter) “This song is inspired by a story my friend told
me, from when he had to pull a body out of a creek in West Virginia. Someone had drowned
but they took a few days to resurface because of the current.

‘Holdin on’ is a line from my friend Evan Gray’s poetry book: Thickets Swamped in
a Fence-Coated Briars. He gave me and Jake a copy of it to read on tour once and
that line stuck out to me as pure genius so I stole it and wrote the rest of the song
in my own words around it.”

Charged-up, mid-tempo burner
growing forcefully intense along
its way.

New single from her 2nd full length. It’s named Trouble and
will land on 11 July, via Jack White‘s Third Man Records.

A song that perfectly captures the feeling of
wanting peace while the world goes to hell.

Birch’s  bass play brings Jah Wobble
to mind on this hip-activating dub
reggae tune.

Band: THE DEARS
Who: Canadian indie rock vets
led by Murray Lightburn.

Track: BABE, WE’LL FIND A WAY
First new music in 30 years.

Murray Lightburn: “The music came down all at once, strings, guitar – melodies.
It was so strong and vivid. It pines for the breakthrough, we know it’s there! It’s so
tangible. When that happens, inner strength takes over. There’s a motivation, a reason
to get out of bed. You can feel the sun on your face and maybe a little later a smile will take over.”

Frisky and catchy guitar pop.
Heartwarming vocals.
Sparkling guitars.
