SOUR TONGUE – Punk Turbine Rips Your Brain Apart With Their Kamikaze Single ‘I THOUGHT YOU LIKED ME!’ From Their Brand-New EP

Daily electricity to load your batteries

18 August 2025

Band: SOUR TONGUE
Who: Los Angeles-based punk turbine formed in the early days of the 2020 pandemic
by Satori Marill and John Murphy. Fusing disco with grunge, hardcore punk with country, plus much more, they utilise humour and a degree of sonic absurdity to convey a deeper message of angst and desperation.

“When it stops being fun, we’ll end it.”

Track: I THOUGHT YOU LIKED ME!
Single from their brand new toptier
EP Final Girl. Stream/buy it below.

Satori Marill (vocalist/songwriter): “I wrote the song about being manipulated and
lied to, getting fed up and reversing the roles. I wanted to talk about reactive impropriety,
but with a feeling of guilt tucked beneath it, because I think a lot of people are ashamed to admit when they do something out of spite. I think anyone who has ever had their heart
broken and done something stupid in return can relate to it.”

TUTV: The riff-roasting rodeo starts with a bone-chilling scream. From there on
all cannons are ignited with behemothic drumming/bassing, slash-and-burn guitar pyrotechnics and a schizophrenic chorus that rips your brain apart. Sounds like big
fun, right? You betcha. And the best news is that the other 3 pieces on their brand
new EP are of a similar backbreaking kamikaze caliber. Pell-mell shit!
