Top singles from the past

Milwaukee-born rock star STEVE MILLER hit the top spot of the US charts
with his single THE JOKER (almost 600 million streams on Spotify) in 1974.
On 15 September 1990, today 30 years ago it was at #1 in the UK, 16 years after
its original release. The song found a new generation of fans after appearing in a
Levi’s TV ad, and earned the record for the longest gap between transatlantic chart
toppers.
“Cause I’m a picker / I’m a grinner / I’m a lover / And I’m a sinner /
I play my music in the sun / I’m a joker / I’m a smoker / I’m a midnight toker /
I sure don’t want to hurt no one”
Superb live version.
Still flying like an eagle.
