Daily electricity to load your batteries
7 October 2025
Artist: UKofA
Who: The musical moniker of seasoned British musician and songwriter John MacKenzie who shared stages with rock legends such as Foo Fighters and Slash with his previous band Hawk Eyes, and has now branched into more experimental territory with this solo project, with influences ranging from Nine Inch Nails to Wu Tang Clan.
Track: HOPE ASSASSIN
New single from upcoming
album next December.
“It’s written from the viewpoint of a would-be-assassin, someone who is trying to change
the world but doesn’t realise that whether they hit their target or not, the moment they picked up a gun they lost the argument. Violence is the winner. Sadly more topical than ever right now.”
TUTV: Don’t get too close to your stereo’s speakers when launching this combative torpedo, or your ears will need after-shock treatment. Hope Assassin is an intimidating industrial-rock projectile that has no intention whatsoever to have mercy. Its hurry-scurry assault, fueled by slash-and-burn guitars, hot-tempered percussion, and stressed vocals, will leave you out of breath when the storm is over. Helter-skelter.
