Band: SHAPES
Who: Fresh post-punk misfits
from Montreal, Canada.
Track: IN ITS WAY
Brand new single.
Press info: “A band unafraid to explore depth while keeping bodies in motion. The lyrics have an interesting backstory. They were written years ago for a different project but didn’t find their full shape until now. That time and distance gave the words new weight.
The song opens with the image of a mountain and a valley, setting up a broader theme
of extremes: high and low, success and failure, power and powerlessness. Shapes use this contrast to ask bigger questions, about identity, meaning, and how we move through the world, especially when things aren’t clear.”
TUTV: Post-punk hysteria in motion. In Its Way is a brutal swipe. Psychotic guitars, a nasty bass/drum collaboration and a vociferous vocalist who roars and howl as if he’s possessed by a hungry hellhound, combine for a gruesome outpouring.
Looks like Shapes, in their way, are gearing up for Halloween.
Press play. Here. Now.
