Band: RUNNING OUT THE CLOCK
Who: Ireland quartet making waves in the music scene with sharp guitar hooks, shimmering synth textures, and an unstoppable sense of energy. They draw inspiration from indie, math rock, synth-pop, and beyond, they’ve created a sound that’s vibrant, varied, and distinctly their own.
Track: NO PARKING
Only their 2nd single, following the debut one, Why Wait For Love? from last August.
ROTC : “ It reflects the restless pursuit of purpose and identity. It was written from the perspective of feeling out of place, not fitting into groups that you thought you were part of, and being rejected for embodying traits from both sides. The ‘no parking’ metaphor symbolises that tension – being surrounded by an abundance of no parking signs reflects the inability to park anywhere and restrictions such as double yellow lines mirroring the struggle to find space and freedom.”
TUTV: If Bikini Kill were a hepped-up guitar pop band they would sound like this.
As avid, high-spirited and catchy as their riot grrl gems. No Parking is a thrilling tune
that seduces your yearning ears on the spot. It peaks every time the fired up chorus, sauced with vivid vocals, strikes. Best played on your car stereo while you look
endlessly for a place to station.
