Trash metal freaksGWAR released their 15th album THE NEW DARK AGES
a couple of days ago. The vile Virginia veterans still slash and smash as
the best after 38 years.
Here’s the horrific video clip for the guitar-wicked singleBerserker Mode
Band: THE CHRONICLES OF MANIMAL AND SAMARA Who: London-based duo – Daphne Ang (Singapore) and
Andrea Papi (Italy) – that fills a gap in music by bringing
literature, art, and history together into a space where
rock and metal meet electronica.
Last week Samara and Manimal released a new piece from their forthcoming LP.
“Shaman’ narrates a journey of self-discovery into the depths of one’s psyche. Guided
by Jungian psychoanalytic theory, the song captures a personal confrontation with the unconscious in which one experiences the infinite and the energy of the universe. The song introduces the idea of attaining wholeness by uniting our inner and outer worlds.”
Turn Up The Volume wrote: Shaman progresses like a vicious viper working its way to a grandiose finale. Determined, but always wary of sudden danger. Shaman dumbfounds and flummoxes while the song’s tension intensifies and sends shivers down your spine.
They just launched a spectacularly animated video clip. As I said before
the duo has an ingenious vision when it comes to visualizing their hellraisers.
The coolest sisters in rock – KIM and KELLEY DEAL – also played in one
and the same band, outside of the other groups they were involved in.
I guess THE BREEDERS are best known for theirLast Splash album (1993)
with that boiling Cannonball on. But the following album (nine years later) Title TK wasn’t bad either and celebrated its 20th anniversary this weekend.
A good reason to have another look at the drop-dead-cool twins
and their video clip for the album’s steamy single HUFFER
Two years ago flamboyant frontmanTom Meighan left KASABIAN following personal problems. The announcement came via this statement from the band: “Tom Meighan is stepping down from Kasabian by mutual consent. Tom has struggled with personal issues that have affected his behaviour for quite some time and now wants to concentrate all his energies on getting his life back on track.”
After a break of 2 years, the Leicester 4-piece is back now with songwriter Serge Pizzorno on vocals. He sang occasionally Kasabian songs in the past.
In celebration of 60 years of BOB DYLAN recording for Columbia Records,
the legendary video for Subterranean Homesick Blues has been reimagined
by a wide range of musicians, film makers, graphic designers and street artists.
Roll the tape…
That was cool, but I rather watch the original any day of the week…
Drop-dead gorgeous Aussie punkette AMY TAYLOR and her SNIFFERS
have two blistering punk rock albums out, so far. Their self-titled boiling
debut LP (2019) and the red-hot follow-upComfort To Me (2021).
A week ago the Aussie fury and her desperadoes caught
fire in front of the cameras of The Late Night Show with
a volcanic version ofHertz, one of the many highlights on
the new longplayer. And of course, all eyes are on Amyl.
Who: A singer/songwriter from the Niagara Region playing for
over 20 years now. His music crosses many genres and includes
acoustic, folk, pop, rock, country and adult contemporary.
Smelle: “Every day we plan to get things done and there is always a list
of things we put off ‘til tomorrow. I penned this tune 20 plus years ago
and when I was picking songs for my new album In The Homestretch,
I dived into my back catalogue and revamped this tune.
Now having my own studio, I was able to record all the parts myself and
the bass line totally drives this song. There is a definite laid-back vibe to this
one and it seems to be the track that resonates with a lot of my listeners.”
TUTV: This is melancholia at its moody best. A gentle and tender ballad
that starts playing around in your head after only one spin. Don’t wait ’til
tomorrow, listen to this folky reflection now.
Everyone has vice or two like you
But we all know what we should do
Instead we stay the same not change
Is there really someone else to blame
I could get a move on or improve on myself
But there’s no way
I waking up to find me say
That today is not the day
Last week after playing a show at the music venue Casino de Paris the Mael

a public piano at the historic Gare du Nord station in Paris.
