As former manic grunge legends HOLE celebrated the 25th birthday of their second album Live Through This last month, front-screamer-woman COURTNEY LOVE talked about a possible reunion in an interview with British newspaper The Guardian: “We are definitely talking about it. There’s nothing wrong with honoring your past. I’ve just kind of discovered that. If you don’t, people will rewrite history and you will become an inconvenient woman.” Read the whole story here. I saw the 2010 HOLE reincarnation playing live twice
(Amsterdam and Paris), but wouldn’t mind to see more of the original.

Countless fans are still waiting for Portland‘s electro act CHROMATICS‘ follow-up LP to their fourth longplayer called Kill For Love released in 2012. Actually a new full length titled Dear Tommy was already announced back in 2014 but except for some singles no new full record yet.
To ease the impatience the band, let by the charismatic Ruth Radelet, has shared their cover of ‘PETALS‘, a song by Courtney Love‘s former band HOLE (from their splendid 1998 Celebrity Skin LP). Chromatics take is more hopeful, more romantic and lighter that the original. Check it out here…

Today 25 years ago, on 12 April 2014 Courtney Love‘s band HOLE released their second album LIVE THROUGH THIS. A week after her husband Kurt Cobain shot himself.
The record was overall praised by music critics with Rolling Stone writing: “Love delivers punk not only as insinuating as Nirvana’s but as corrosive as the Sex Pistols’. More significantly, Live Through This may be the most potent blast of female insurgency ever committed to tape.”
It peaked at #52 in America but sold remarkably better in Europe, the UK and Australia.
