DEAD AIR – London’s Fierce Punks Are Alive And Kicking Hard On New Barbed Wire Slam ‘FAST FOOD WORLD’

Daily noise that works faster than a stream of caffeine

8 August 2025

Band: DEAD AIR
Who: South London punks who have 2 EPs,
so far, to their credit. Hear them here.

New single: FAST FOOD WORLD

“The idea came from us all working and touring and writing, just living the day-to-day of being in the industry. Over the last couple years, it’s felt like there’s this overwhelming obsession with things like AI and just… the commercial side of music. So much of it feels soulless now. ”

“Musically, you can definitely hear some of our favourite bands in this one. The riff is a kind of nod to how Queens of the Stone Age work that low string, it gives it loads of drive. There’s a bit of Adam Jones in there too, and a touch of Bad Nerves in the chorus, especially with that major chord landing. We love that stuff.”

TUTV: Holy jeepers! Dead Air operate here like a punked-up bulldozer with a 4-cylinder engine fabricated by Rage Against The Machine. They are alive and kicking really hard.
This barbed wire slam dunk will cause manic moshpits.

Press play and start
one in your kitchen.

It’s named ‘Tomorrow We Escape’ and will hit the streets
on September 9.

Album artwork

theOGM about the album: “When we started this process, we knew we wanted to make
more relatable songs. It was a healthy challenge to focus on emotion. In the past, a lot of our material was politically charged. That element is present to a degree, but we wanted to take a more personal route. This mindset drove how we wrote songs. Everybody has a struggle. The goal is to find motivation for preservation.”

Track: INCLINE
Second shared preview following lead one Upside Down.
It features Nova Twins, Pink Siffu and Yung Skrrt.

Be very awake and very ready for a harsh headbutt.

AFI – California’s Weathered Rockers Present The First Big Wall Of Sound Single ‘BEHIND THE CLOCK’ From Upcoming New LP

Daily noise that works faster than a stream of caffeine

5 August 2025

Band: AFI (abbreviation for A Fire Inside)
Who: Weathered high-volume veteran rockers from
Ukiah, California who started to turn up the sonic heat
in 1991.

Track: BEHIND THE CLOCK
First single from their forthcoming 12th LP,
entitled Silver Bleeds The Black Sun… .

Press info: “For more than three decades, AFI has been a band in a constant state
of reinvention. No album they’ve released has sounded much like the one before it, sometimes dramatically so. The band has never gotten too comfortable in one genre
or allowed themselves to coast on any successes.

It’s an approach that has regularly challenged their audience, as their sonic identity has shifted in wild, unexpected directions every few years. But on their twelfth album, Silver Bleeds the Black Sun…, the members of AFI managed to surprise even themselves.”

New album artwork

Davey Havok (frontman): “I realize this is something we’ve said about our records
for years, but this record is starkly different from what we’ve done in the past, In our
33 years together, we’ve covered so much, musically, that I found myself daunted at
the prospect of doing something different, and questioning what that would be.”

Wake up, people,
the LOUD clock is
ticking right here.

PREWN – Feverish American Songstress IZZY HAGERUP Impresses Magically With Brilliant Torch Song ‘SYSTEM’

Daily noise that works faster than a stream of caffeine

5 August 2025

Artist: PREWN
Who: The moniker of Massachusetts‘ chilling singer-songwriter
Izzy Hagerup. She released her debut album Through The Window
in 2023.

Track: SYSTEM
First new piece and title track from her
2nd LP, coming our way on October 3rd.

Hagerup: “When I wrote ‘System’ I was supposed to be present and alive
and gracious and happy. But somehow I couldn’t escape my own internal
fears and depression that can follow me wherever I go.”

TUTV: What a brilliant torch song. Feverish tension all the way, drawing you into a mesmerizing trance you want to last like forever. Weeping guitars come and go while Hagerup‘s heart-stopping vocals (Big Thief‘s Adrienne Lenker, Sharon Van Etten and Wolf Alice‘s Ellie Rowsell all rolled into one) are immensely soul-stirring and a galvanic guitar
solo causes a spine-tingling finale.

I played System five times in a row and it got better and better. It will be an on-repeat nugget for a long time. Goodness gracious. Wake up, people, here’s one of the most captivating songs of 2025.

SNÕÕPER – Ever-Changing Nashville Punk Line-Up Are Gearing Up For ‘WORLDWIDE’ Domination

Daily noise that works faster than a stream of caffeine

30 July 2025

Press photo by Blaire Beamer

Nashville‘s blitzkrieg pop punk colletive SNÕÕPER unleashed their whirling
and twirling debut LP Super Snõõper, 2 years ago. 14 songs in 22 minutes,
like in the good old Ramones days.

Last month they dropped a 4-track EP, titled Unknown Caller.

And they’re not done yet for this year. Their sophomore
album, named Worldwide will hit the streets and your
stereo on October 3th via Jack White’s Third Man Records.

It’s not really clear who is in and out of the line -up.
From day one, members come and go as swift as
the length of their songs, well sort of.

Only the boy and girl in the photo on
top are permanent band members.

Press info: “While their debut was a collage of random images, “Worldwide” is a more cohesive, adventurous work showcasing Snooper’s evolving style. Throbbing electronics and dance breaks expand on their guitar-driven roots, while Blaire Tramel’s ever-changing lineup of larger-than-life papier-mâché puppets keeps their live shows irresistibly captivating.”

Along with the news comes the first single, the title track. They still try
to match the speed of a Formula 1 race car, but their sound is cranked-up
and somehow nastier.

Wake up and check for yourselves, people.

.
Last May they played Brussels.
A thunder-and-lighting storm,
unfortunately wrecked by an
awful sound mix.

CASKET RATS – Boston’s Sleazy Me(n)talheads Introduce You To ‘WHISKEY QUEEN’ In Their Batcave

Daily noise that works faster than a stream of caffeine

29 July 2025

Band: CASKET RATS
Who:
Seasoned metalheads from Boston, MA who
released their self-titled 5-track debut EP in 2022.

Their motto is (rightly so): ‘No gods, no masters,
no kings – rock and roll will set us free.”

Track: WHISKEY QUEEN

Keith Bennett (bassist/vocalist): “It’s a punch in the face. It’s a greasy,
sleazy rocker from a greasy, sleazy rock and roll band. We’re letting the
world know we exist, and it’s no time for polite introductions.”

About the video: “That’s our dirty, sweaty little practice space and those
are our dirty, sweaty little carcasses playing a dirty, sweaty little banger.”

TUTV: Think Guns N’ Roses on acid, Motörhead on speed. This riff-roasting
rat race makes your head spin uncontrollably. Vicious guitars, a madman
for a drummer, a manic bassist and a demonic vocalist. Sounds mental,
right? Absolutely.

No idea who the Whiskey Queen is, but I’m pretty sure she lives in
paradise city where the girls are pretty and ace of spades rules.

For those about to rock, Casket Rats salute you from their batcave.

Wake up, people, and rawk your ass off.

One of the new pieces is TYRANT KING. A monstrous rapid-fire
rocket speeding up with nuclear force. It’s accompanied by a

truck stop bathroom,”

Gwar up people,
