The band was formed one year ago by charismatic frontgirl Arrow de Wilde explaining in an interview how it all started: “I went through a period of time where I was really angry and frustrated. I wanted to start a band so badly because the band I had with my friends – before Starcrawler – had fallen apart. So I started watching live videos of The Runaways and studying Cherie Currie’s moves as well as Iggy Pop and Kiss. I slowly started to create this character, this alter ego maniac.” That sounds pretty deranged. Definitely the way we like it, all day long.
After a series of inflammatory gigs the quartet will release their debut single ANTS next week, on 12th May via Rough Trade. A burning glam cracker sounding like The Stooges fronted by Suzi Quatro on tons of speed while wrestling with her straitjacket. Enter the mad world of Arrow de Wilde and Starcrawler.
