Portland’s Electro Act CHROMATICS Covers HOLE’s Darksome ‘PETALS’ Track…

Countless fans are still waiting for Portland‘s electro act CHROMATICS‘ follow-up LP to their fourth longplayer called  Kill For Love released in 2012. Actually a new full length titled Dear Tommy was already announced back in 2014 but except for some singles no new full record yet.

To ease the impatience the band, let by the charismatic Ruth Radelet, has shared their cover of ‘PETALS‘, a song by Courtney Love‘s former band HOLE (from their splendid 1998 Celebrity Skin LP). Chromatics take is more hopeful, more romantic and lighter that the original. Check it out here…

Noise Turbo MINOR/MINOR Produces Deafening Bravado On Clip For New Cut ‘BLINK OF AN EYE’…

Clips that will have an impact on your eyes and your ears…

Band: MINOR/MINOR

Who: “This project wass born back in 2013 in Waremme, Belgium, built from various influences, from ambient to heavy riffs, sometimes bluesy or post-rock with a very typical and sharp voice, this band offers you some kind of sweet and sour blend. All of the recordings, mixing and mastering process have been done in their own home studio in the area of Liège, Belgium.”

Video: BLINK OF AN EYE – newest cut from their upcoming EP

Score: The sheer metallic power and overwhelming bravado of this emotional outburst
is as gargantuan as a clash of ear-shattering titans such as bombast addicts Rammstein and the out-of-their-minds loudmouths Korn. Oh yeah, expect some amazeballs potency and blistering fierceness. Check the flexibility of your speakers before unloosing this ramping energy and take a towel beside you because it’s gonna be a sweaty ride.

Stormy L.A. Force BROKEN BABY Rages Furiously On New Cut ‘MEAT WEEK’…

Daily fuel to load your sonic batteries…

27 May 2019

Band: BROKEN BABY

Who: this LA-based force “is the brainchild of wunderkind newcomer Amber Bollinger and rock veteran/producer Alex Dezen. Their boomy, low-fi sound soothes and scrapes in equal measure, with Bollinger’s bright, wispy vocals turning into adrenal-fueled rants with little warning. Caught somewhere between Savages, The Jesus Lizard, B-52s, and The Eurythmics.”

Work (so far): self-titled debut LP – stream it here

New track: MEAT WEEK

Score: A blazing rant versus sexual violence, malignant misogyny, and lethal right-wing fanaticism. A loud and crystal clear tirade bottled in a motorik bass/drum beat pushed groove that makes your head go totally dizzy and your feet stumbling over each other when trying to follow the bouncy pace. Trust me it’s much safer to jump up and down vertically like mad to this razor-sharp Swiss-knife eruption. Press the button and feel
the inspiring and energetic social commitment right here, right now…

Young British Gunslingers THE STONE BIRDS Unleash Their Swagger On New Single ‘THE JOKER’…

Making noise about up and coming artists

27 May 2019

Band: THE STONE BIRDS

Who: “Inspired by the classic rock of the 60s and 70s, The Stone Birds originally formed
as a two-piece in 2018 in Portsmouth, UK released a single, then became a three-piece
with a brand new song in January 2019. Now a four-piece the band promise to blend
the energy of classic rock along with its modern counterpart to create a fresh but
nostalgic sound.”

Track: THE JOKER – new single

Score: This fresh cracker moves like a slow-burning torch fueled by firing guitars accompanying the cutting story about a suspicious character and driven by an overall cocksure attitude. When this young gang’s swagger turns into a droning steamroller midway it’s firework time. Bingo! Biting cut! These youngsters will be back sooner than
you think. But first this vicious headbutt…

Afro Futurist Collective SPAZA Enchants With Debut Single ‘ICE SQUINCHIES | WAITING FOR YOU’…

Relaxing reveries for the laziest day of the week…

26 May 2019

Band: SPAZA

Who: An ensemble “with no permanent personnel, with each lineup assembled for the express purpose of recording improvised or work shopped material. For this, the initial salvo, SPAZA was put together from a group of musicians with individual and collective links to Johannesburg’s jazz, afro funk and experimental electro scenes.”

Track: ‘ICE SQUINCHIES | WAITING FOR YOU’ – lead single from upcoming debut LP

Score: Open your ears and alert your senses, ladies and gents, because here’s something truly exciting. There are so many things going on that you’ll need a couple of spins to hear, feel and see the whole spellbinding picture. After a short meditative intro with singer and trombonist Siya Makuzeni‘s multi-layered vocals upfront, a bass-driven groove kicks in and from that moment on multiple instruments join and start a trance-like jam that will puzzle your perception. It’s a mystifying, enchanting and intoxicating wave all the way. Experience the wondrous trip right here…
