Band: NIGHT FLIGHT

Who: A London quartet whose immediate melodies, earnest lyrics and huge hooks
that echo icons of yesterday, have earned them comparisons to the likes of Fleet Foxes, Radiohead and The War On Drugs. They released their self-titled debut last year. You

Singer-songwriter Sam Holmes says it’s about “A mourning of love through second-hand
news. The conversations shared with a forgotten friend in the strange aftermath of a relationship wherein perpetuity ends.”

Score: ‘David’ is a reflective meditation about a broken relationship. A heart-rending ballad about hurt feelings so many of us will recognize as these painful breakup emotions are universal, are part of life, are part of human interaction. The song’s melancholic and wistful tone strengthen the sense of loss. Music for lonely hearts and wounded souls.
