‘MAKING A NEW WORLD’ – Brand New LP By British Pop Explorers FIELD MUSIC…

Old and new albums to make your day

10 January 2020

British pop explorers FIELD MUSIC, formed in 2004, with the brothers David Brewis and Peter Brewis as the core members, released their seventh album called ‘MAKING A NEW WORLD‘ today.

A truly special project as it is a 19-track concept longplayer about the aftermath of World War I. The idea originated after a visit to the Imperial War Museum in London. Lyrically the record covers a weird variety of unexpected topics such as gender reassignment, traffic control, sanitary napkins, Dadaism and all sort of stories about what occurred during and after World War I. Sonically it’s an exciting discovery journey. From cinematic soundscapes to funky pop tunes and plenty of diverse venturesome musicality in between. A compelling and bold enterprise that needs several spins in order to uncover the multiple and at times complex layers of the whole picture.
