Band: KING GIZZARD & THE LIZARD WIZARD
Who: Psychedelia addicts from down under
Formed: 2010, in Melbourne
New album: BUTTERFLY 3001
An extended remix of last year’s Butterfly 3000. That LP that was offered (only in pre-order) in 11 vinyl variants, each printed in a different language (the standard English variant, and the limited-edition Hindi, Dutch, French, German, Japanese, Mandarin, Russian, Spanish, Thai, and Turkish variants). Crazy stuff, as usual.
Turn Up The Volume: These psych wizards must be the hardest working band on
the planet. So far they released 18 albums in 12 years, an average of 2 per year (hello Radiohead?). Probably in preparation for another longplayer the Aussies got themselves
in the right mind-stimulating mood by inviting friends to turn last year’s praised Butterfly 3000 LP upside down. Some original songs went more than once through the re-mixer.
Big fun for everyone.
All you King Gizzard fans out there,
up and down under, prepare for a
marathon of spaced-out extravaganza.
Right here, right now…
