23 January 2022

Artist: MILES KANE
Who: British pop/rock songsmith (35 years old)
Active: Since 2005 / 4 studio LPs (including new one)

New album: CHANGE THE SHOW
Out: 21st January 2022

MILES KANE: “I wrote songs about big highs, big lows, daydreams,
true friends and deep feelings. I learnt to let the future unfold of its
own accord, while staying true to myself and that has led to what
feels to me like a really uplifting album!”

NME‘s verdict: “When Kane rises above that tentativeness, as with
the rousing and charismatic title track, the effect is engaging. But for
the most part, this solid but unchallenging album is a step towards
nowhere in particular.” Full review here. Score: 3/5.

Turn Up The Volume: Back to the pop and soul of 60s/70s. Motown,
early Bowie, a bit of bubblegum, organs and horns, glowing guitars and
playful piano, harmonious backing vocals, a whole lot of nostalgia and
addictive tunes. Kane doesn’t change the show, but he made a lively
retro record for lazy days.
