RUN ON also known as GOD’S GONNA CUT YOU DOWN is an old
American folk traditional about how you can’t escape God’s wrath.

Black gospel/spiritual band The Golden State Quartet released the first
known version back in 1946. Afterward, a cast of superstars including Elvis
Presley, Odetta, Johnny Cash, and many more covered the song.

Now it’s PJ HARVEY‘s turn. She recorded her version for the soundtrack
of Bad Sisters, a black comedy/thriller series running on Apple TV+.

Harvey turned the traditional into a vintage Harvey song.
