Band: THE CRAWLING EYE
Who: Indie pop/rock trio from Cardiff, Wales led by Welsh songwriter/guitarist/keyboard player Matthew Witherstone and featuring vocalist Regan Meredith and bassist Sean Davies.

New album: THE WRETCHED TRUTH
The band’s third full-length.

TUTV: After the surprising instrumental opener called Lousy Human Bastards, with,
yes, Spanish flamenco echoes coming from luminous guitar flashes, you can rock out
to high-energetic firecracker Until We Burn and shake your hips to the reggae beat of Starting To Wonder infused with 6-string electricity.

From there on, the mood shifts from the country-like musing, Say What You’re Saying,
to the dreamy reflection of In My Head, to the groovy-edged, yet darksome tone of Piece
Of Mind with singer Regan Meredith‘s sensuous voice adding a femme fatale touch and it
all ends (to soon) with Mazzy Star-like lullaby Nobody Else with some Springsteen-esque harmonica play. Indie at its indie finest. I wouldn’t have minded whatsoever if there
were about 5 songs more.
