Band: WE MELT CHOCOLATE

Who: Shoegaze outfit from Florence, Italy formed in 2014 by a group
of friends active for years in the local. They deliver lilting, noisy shoegaze
music, aware of the My Bloody Valentine heritage but also with a nod to
bands like Lush and Björk‘s former band Sugarcubes. They released their
debut LP S/T back in 2019.

New single/video: HOLY RAMEN
The piece features Francesco D’Elia, Sebastian Lugli of Rev Rev Rev and
Ben Moro of Sensitive Club. It’ll feature on their new, upcoming album.

Press statement: “Holy Ramen” represents the dreamier side of WMC. It’s an
exhortation to overcome daily difficulties, look at the sky and allow yourself a special moment, a sacred moment just for you. “For us, particularly for the singer, one of these moments is indulging in a good hot ramen. Wielding a chocolate phrase: it is the simplest moments that become sacred” declares the band.

TUTV: The image that popped up in my head when this new piece invaded my headphones for the first time was the one of glistening sparks bathing in the sun
on a lake creating a surreal feel and a woozy sensation in the head.

Fuzzy layers of shiny guitar waves, energetic drumming and heavenly vocals augment
the hallucinatory impressions, but around the 3.30 minute mark the sun disappears and
a thunderous wall of sound storms over the lake. A surprising and spectacular turnaround that will baffle your ears and your mind. Holy smoke!
