Band: SLIGHTEST CLUE (Canada)
Who: Vancouver-based four-piece that brings distinct influences and experiences.
A stage actor whose playlists go from Talking Heads to Sonic Youth to Björk, a hook-obsessed recovering choir girl, an electrical engineer whose personal idol is John Bonham, and a guitarist who played for (and left) ten other bands before deciding this was the one for him.

New single: WHEN YOU WAKE UP

“We incorporated a lot of our influences on this track. There’s inspiration from the chord progressions and use of different time signatures that King Krule is known for, the song title which is a nod to My Bloody Valentine’s “When You Sleep,” and some lyrics from Modern English’s song “I Melt With You” which was a big inspiration in terms of storytelling for this song.”

TUTV: The song starts bluesy, smoothly, and mid-paced with sensuous jazzy vocals but,
on the 1-minute mark, a volcanic guitar/drum explosion occurs immediately followed by
a short electrifying bridge back to the first soft part.

That zigzagging process repeats itself a couple of times, taking you on a capricious roller coaster, up and down, forth and back, causing a what’s going on here experience. But give
this brainbreaker a couple of spins, and you’ll want to go back again and again for a seat on this turbulent ride. Trust me, you’ll be wide awake for the rest of the day.
