Punk legends X hit the underground scene of Los Angeles back in
1977, they had a couple of hiatuses but never called it quits until
now.
All 4 original members, John Doe, Exene Cervenka, DJ Bonebrake and Billy Zoom,
announced in a press statement that they finished the recordings of their 9th
and final LP.
They named it SMOKE & FICTION and will share it with
their old and young fans on August 2. More info here.
A farewell tour is also planned.
But first and foremost the lead single BIG BLACK X
Exene Cervenka: “X is a great band name; also a bad idea sometimes when it gets lost in print or on the marquee. Gotta have a sense of humor. We all did in the early days. Los Angeles was a carnival of weirdness back then, with left over traces of silent movie stars, long haired hippies, bikers, and brand new self-defined punks doing anything we wanted. When we started touring the country we found like-minded people everywhere, and somehow they all found us. Even if the X was lost on the old marquee.”
X celebrate themselves with this sassy steamroller.
They really do the good punk times roll again.
Fuck X plagiarist Elon Musk.
