Mythical Prog Rock Symphonies – Swedish Act EYEMOUTH Eclipses You With Their New EP

7 September 2021

Band: EYEMOUTH
Who: This musical project started in Gothenburg, Sweden in 2014 and presents a soundscape based on electronic backgrounds and a more classic rock instrumentation blended with mellotrons, vibraphone, santur, harmonium and other alluring sounding instruments. In short, atmospheric psychedelic darkness with occult undertones.

New EP: ECLIPSE
Released: 20 August 2021

Eclipse, together with the previous EPs Cut (2020) and Spiral (2019) concludes a trilogy full of contradicting elements like nature, machines, birth, death and so on. The band recommends you to dive into the dark and vast oceans, and let yourself drift along with the unknown currents for a while.

Turn Up The Volume: Eyemouth is not a band, it’s a sort of spiritual experience, going from the unreal to the real and back. This EP contains six tracks but you really need to listen to it as a unity, as an entwined whole in order to capture the full sonic and lyrical picture.

Eclipse is one long mythical prog rock symphony with classical music structures that enhance the otherworldly euphony while Marcus Lilja‘s spooky voice wanders throughout like the untraceable ghost in the Blair Witch Project. Enigmatic, poignant and soul-stirring are the keywords. Put on your headphones, close your eyes and let this spellbinding trip lead you to the unreal and back. Enjoy the voyage.

ACE! ACE! ACE! – German Turbo Trio LOBSTERBOMB Released Their Chaotic Debut EP ‘GO! GO! GO!

3 August 2021

Band: LOBSTERBOMB
Who: Loud trio from Berlin formed in
a basement in 2020 featuring. Nico Rosch,
Vik Chi and Crayon Jones.

New EP: GO! GO! GO!
The EP approaches themes of personal introspection, desire for change
and individual growth through a lens of energetic, raw and catchy indie
garage rock. Recorded DIY style by the band and mixed by Peter Thoms
from popular German punk band Akne Kid Joe, ‘Go! Go! Go!’, examines
common feelings of frustration, doubt and fear along with a sense of
optimism that positive change is within reach.

Turn Up The Volume: After slam dunks Wake Up and I Want Noise (both
were ‘Pick Of The Day’ on TUTV!) I instantly became a fan. Why? This trio is
a sharp-cutting punk-and-roll turbo. They want noise, chaos, and danger.

So, what you get here is Bikini Kill‘s raw outcries, Courtney Love‘s glamorous
guts, B-52‘s love shack swagger, and catchy aaah-aaahh-aaaah chants. This is
a red-hot 5-track Riot Grrrl EP. Lobsterbomb are ready to go! No brakes for
these German gunslingers. You should be a fan too.

Shadowy Synth/Guitar Reflections – British Duo TMFC With New EP ‘THE SPACE IN BETWEEN Pt. 1’

Extended plays…

19 July 2021

(photo INNO media)

Band: TMCF (UK)
Who: Pop duo unafraid to blend ambience with indie hooks to
create a psychedelic experience. Formed in a time of hopelessness.

New EP: THE SPACE INBETWEEN PT1

“We had the opportunity to dig deep introspectively and remember why it is we
make music in the first place. The reason is that music more than a choice, more
than a commodity – on a very human level, to us and to so many people, it is a
part of who we are… During the production of this EP, we were able to feel gravity
again, let our feet finally re-connect with the ground during this crazy time, and
once again fall in love with the process of creating music.”

Turn Up The Volume: Expect an instrumental synth/guitar opener (The Space
In Between
), a shadowy prog-roller-coaster with electrical twists and turns, and
a magnetic bass riff (Thaumaturgy), darkwavish pop-scapes (From Green To Grey
/ Collapse
), a sparkling dreamtune (The Lions Den ) and a euphonic, vocal symphony
with mellow piano touches (Soon The World Goes Black). Sounds intriguing, right?

Play this EP a couple of times in a row, so your hungry
ears can slowly discover the layered moodiness of it.

The Dark World Is Theirs – THE NOVUS Rage On Their Jaw-Dropping Debut EP ‘THALEIA STANDING’

12 July 2021

Band: THE NOVUS
Who: Having been described as the most powerful thing to come out
of Birmingham since the industrial steam-engine, The Novus lead the
Gen-Z charge fuelled by council-estate angst & longing for escape from
small-town mentalities with their bigger-picture ideologies. Impossible
to put in a box, The Novus extract influence from all areas – from 70s
psychedelic rock to contemporary post-punk & are obsessed with every
aspect of the eternal realm we call ‘art’.

New EP: THALEIA STANDING – the band’s debut EP

Turn Up The Volume: Expect a scorching melting pot of all things that
make rock so terrifically vital. Anthemic delirium (I Serve Not), post-punk
anger (Hate Is The Cancer), a couple of massive Jimmy Page riffs combined
with that early, hallucinatory The Verve swagger (Overdriven), a hypnotic roller
coaster (Castaway), and a slow-burning psych-o-delic trip with an apocalyptic
outro (Journey – With No End).

No stories about the birds and the bees, no mainstream nonsense. These
wall-of-monstrous-psych-sound-producing misfits rage about the real world,
the one that’s dark and will be soon theirs. Get the picture? I thought so. Jaw-
dropping debut EP. Hands down.
