Psych Popsters LAS KELLIES Drop New Groovy Track From Upcoming LP – Here’s ‘CLOSE TALKER’…

Daily fuel to load your sonic batteries…

26 February 2020

Argentinian psych pop duo LAS KELLIES release their fourth album, titled ‘SUCK THIS TANGERINE‘ next month. We already heard two pieces. Last December they dropped
lead-single ‘Funny Money‘. Although it’s a song about our society being in a never-ending crisis, it swings and shakes like a solid gold dance floor killer. And last month they revealed a second cut.  ‘Closer’ is a funky, bass-driven pop humdinger spiced with an avalanche of contagious guitar lines and the duo’s seductive and sensual vocals.

Here’s track number three. ‘CLOSE TALKER‘ is also a frisky cracker with a funky touch, incandescent guitars, bouncy bass parts, infectious ohoo ahaa aha harmonies and a
sticky chorus. Another groove stroke predicting a highly sprightly longplayer.

A couple of weeks ago brisk Canadian rockers JAMES BLONDE
dropped new single A HUNDRED BUCKS.

Turn Up The Volume wrote: “This a tremendously ardent and fervent humdinger with
a vehement drive and an impassioned impact, spiced with electrical hooks and powerful
licks while the harmonious Beatlesesque chorus causes a rapturous glow. Its elevating melodiousness and glorious tunefulness are irresistibly infectious and will get you in a
state of excitation for much less than the track’s title. One spin and you’re hooked!”

Now the band released a lively video clip.

Debut Album ‘THE CROSSING’ by BIG COUNTRY (1983)…

Old and new albums to make your day

‘The Crossing’ by BIG COUNTRY
Released: 15 July 1983 – The Scottish band’s debut LP

ROLLING STONE wrote: “Here’s a big-noise guitar band from Britain that blows the knobs
off all the synth-pop diddlers and fake-funk frauds who are cluttering up the charts these days. Big Country mops up the fops with an air-raid guitar sound that’s unlike anything else around, anywhere … Like the Irish band U2 (with whom they share young, guitar-wise producer Steve Lillywhite), Big Country has no use for synthesizers, and their extraordinary twin-guitar sound should make The Crossing a must-own item for rock die-hards…”

TURN UP THE VOLUME! says: It wasn’t only about their pretty cool guitar sound. This band wrote some massive songs on their debut longplayer. From flaming rock anthems
(In A Big Country / Harvest Home / Fields Of Fire / Angle Park / Heart And Soul) to colorful pop symphonies (Chance / Angle Park / Close Action)

Legends THROWING MUSES Return With Firm Stomper ‘DARK BLUE’ From Their Comeback Album…

New sonic impulses

25 February 2020

Legendary Boston guitar pop band THROWING MUSES led by the fabulous KRISTIN HERSH return with new music after almost 30 years. The new LP called ‘SUN RACKET’
will be out on 22nd May. “A ten-song opus of suitably wrought tales set against a wall of
sound that’s at once calm and ethereal before building into glorious cacophonous crescendos.”
Pre-order facilities here.

Frontwoman/songwriter KRISTIN HERSH says about the new LP: “All it asked of us
was to commingle two completely disparate sonic vocabularies: one heavy noise, the other delicate music box. Turns out we didn’t have to do much. ‘Sun Racket’ knew what it was doing and pushed us aside, which is always best. After thirty years of playing together, we trust each other implicitly but we trust the music more”

Here’s lead single ‘DARK BLUE’. It’s a firm stomper driven by a solid beat with a pounding guitar groove, Kristin Hersh characteristic, sensual voice, and a catchy polyphonic chorus. Throwing Muses are back and they rock as never before! Can’t wait for the album!

Aroused Canadian Rockers KING PARK Released Epic Single ‘LISTEN UP NOW’…

25 February 2020

Band: KING PARK

Who: “King Park has been turning out mercurial, high-contrast indie rock since they released their 2017 breakout track Stay, Gritty and lush, the quartet’s sound mirrors the antitheses of their hometown, Hamilton, Ontario: on the one hand, blue-collar and raw, and, on the other, artful and lovely.”

Track: LISTEN UP NOW – brand new single

Score: My oh my! This is a titanic stunner starting as a frisky and poppy humdinger with blissful guitar sparks, impassioned vocals, and a funky feel. Slowly but surely ‘Listen Up Now‘ grows in perfervid intensity, in flaming ardor and in amplified powerfulness. The
final result is an irresistible, epic tour de force that blows your mind and boosts your adrenalin’s flow. 24 Karat brilliance! Top stuff!

Brighton’s Fierce Punks HELL BEINGS Go Totally Bonkers On ‘STILL THEY GOVERN FROM MARS’…

Daily fuel to load your sonic batteries…

25 February 2020

Band: HELL BEINGS

Who: “At best, maybe it’s Roky Erickson banging ’em out with the Sex Pistols,
lyrics pencilled in by a chuckling Elliott Smith and at worst, in tune and no pencil!”

Track:  ‘STILL THEY GOVERN FROM MARS  – latest track the band put online

Score:  Without a shadow of a doubt the filthiest stonker my hungry ears ever heard
by these DIY punks. It’s all about a monstrous repetitive Black Sabbathesque riff that
does your poor head in without mercy and a clamorous roaring chorus that will test
your vocal cords’ flexibility. WHAM BLOODY WHAM BAM! Open your window and doors and scare the hell out of your neighbourhood.

Go bonkers right here…
