Vandalye is an alternative folk-rock band based out of Dubai, U.A.E. They recently
opened for legends Elton John and Lionel Richie.
Album: CIGARETTES & MINARETS – debut LP released 7 February 2020
Score: Expect a heartfelt, impassioned and glowing fusion of sensitive folk, country
echoes and several wistful ballads bringing exquisite bands to mind from the past
and the present such as 16 Horsepower, Eagles, Mumford & Sons and Elbow. The key
theme of this engrossing record is love and its ardent and heartbreaking moments. Frontman Scott Attew’s vox is just outstanding, the tracks’ gripping zeal is stupendous
and the soul-stirring euphony is imposing. There’s not one weak piece on this album.
An amazing debut longplayer! High-quality songwriting! Light the candles!
