Legendary Californian rockers EAGLES scored a gigantic hit with their brilliant epic story
of HOTEL CALIFORNIA that always reminds me, when I hear the song, of the remote hotel in the mountains in classic horror movie The Shining with Jack Nicholson delivering one of his best psycho performances ever.
This everlasting classic was written by Don Felder & Don Henley (music), and the late Glenn Frey (lyrics) and featured a memorable Joe Walsh guitar solo. It peaked at #1 in
the US today 45 years ago, on 8 May 1977, and scored big time on the rest of the planet.
It was the title track of their fifth full length and sublime million-seller album that made
the band global rock stars.
