Turn Up The Volume: Instrumental chainsaw chant Time Is Right opens the blustery debates. Next up comes a tenacious trio of sharp-teethed garage eruptions (You Follow
Me Around / The Pessimist / Drives Me On). Wait, we only get started.

Scream-out-loud belter Lost My Job is based on a real-life situation and having to
deal with selling your stuff on eBay to make it through) and People In General features
a psychedelic monologue by Les ‘Fruitbat’ Carter from London’s post-punk legends Carter USM.

From there on the pace and vibe changes showing The Fades‘s versatile songwriting side with the horns-injected rollercoaster title track, the paranoiac mid-tempo guitar-deranged jams of Know It Along and Television and sing-along closer Wake Up Generation, a the Clash-like reggae earworm featuring (again) vivid female . Applause, applause, applause.

from 80s post-punk group Johanna’s House Of Glamour. working
constantly with other notable artists.

A few weeks ago they released OUTLAW EMPIRE.

Turn Up The Volume wrote: Outlaw Empire‘ grooves and moves with Massive Attack‘s
trip-hop swagger, spacey reverberance and a sickly sticky, ongoing dub rotation. If
you were/are a Pop Group fan you’ll recognize Maffia maestro Mark Stewart‘s voice
from the first note.

released his 5th LP named 1999, 40 years ago, on 27 October 1982.

Who: Alt-rock team from Chicago that revolves around two US underground music legends William Faith (of seminal goth acts Christian death, Mephisto Waltz and Shadowy Project) and Sarah Rose Faith a.k.a. Scary Lady Sarah, who has been one of the scene’s most eminent DJs and club promoters for decades.

Single: DYSOPTAIN MIRROR
Part of their upcoming album Vestige & Vigil out
in first half of 2023 Sett Records and Nexillis Records.

William Faith: “Dystopian Mirror was written about a dear friend of ours, who lost his mind, and eventually his life, to drugs and alcohol. I found that I was still grappling with the sense of loss and lingering anger about the whole thing years after the fact and, ultimately, all those feelings and emotions ended up coming out here, in this song. The lyric is meant to be coming from the voices inside his own head, during his descent into the realm of the unwell.”

Turn Up The Volume: What the fuck! This cannonball haymaker attacked my speakers from the get-go with a hair-raising speed, riff-racing insanity and badass drum/bass force. What the fuck! William Faith‘s edged Goth-infused vocals rumble all over this super-duper sucker-punch steamroller. Three and a half minutes of fuzz and buzz fanaticism will knock you out in the end. Nasty score. What the fuck!

THE MAN WHO FELL TO EARTH starring DAVID BOWIE The book includes a gallery
of never-before-seen photos used to illustrate an exclusive feature on the making
of the movie.

Bowie plays the character of extra-terrestrial Walter Trevis,
in search of water to save his dying home planet.

The graphic novel also features exclusive bonus material including a 10-page article
on the production of the original film illustrated with dozens of rarely seen on-set photographs. As well as cover concepts, character designs, a ‘script to art’ section chronicling the development of the artwork, and a reproduction of the original

Madcaps FRANKIE AND THE WITCH FINGERS raised up back in 2013 in Indiana, moved
to Los Angeles and made lots of eccentric noise waves since then, cemented in 6 albums
so far, with Monsters Eating People Eating Monsters as the most recent one, released in 2020.

They’re back now to blow minds again with 2 new tracks. A psychedelic Blitzkrieg missile titled ELECTRICIDE goes full tilt forward like if John Dwyer and his Osees breath down their necks, pushing Frankie and his gang to the limit.

The second ripsnorter is the head-spinning and guitar-riff wicked CHALICE that wouldn’t be out of place on one of the best King Gizzard And The Lizard Wizzard marathon records. Holy smoke.

Holly Minto (vocalist) of the song: “It was originally written about feeling like a burden to
my partner when I was ill. After the relationship, I realised that I wasn’t being a burden, I was just trying to recover. ‘Hang me like Jesus’ is obviously a metaphor, how Jesus felt like he was sacrificing himself for the sake of others. Which is what I felt like I did for this relationship. Not comparing myself to Jesus at all, but I really gave my whole self and expected nothing back because I thought I was in love. Hurts man. But hey, fell in love again, didn’t I?”

Turn Up The Volume: This is a pitch-black, terrifically impassionated cry out that sends shivers down your spine. Profound post-break-up sentiments can tear you apart and cause trauma. The way it’s translated here into this heartbreaking ballad is heavy, really heavy. The song’s cutting impact goes deeper and deeper along its mesmeric progression. Goosebumps.

Who: Singer/songwriter/guitarist Jeff Toste from Providence,
Rhode Island, uniquely exploring a world of gritty blues and
garage rock with drummer Micaiah Castro, taking their name
from the 1967 Detroit Riot.

New album: FAKE NEWS

Info: It’s the first album recorded with drummer Micaiah Castro and recorded in Jeff’s
new studio in Rhode Island funded in part by Kurt Cobain‘s DS-1effects pedal, that Jeff had acquired at a Nirvana show and recently sold. “I was at what was one of Nirvana’s first shows on the Nevermind tour. Kurt had guitar issues and smashed his pedal on stage, then threw it into the audience.” Toste explains. After using the pedal on the last two albums “29 years later in January of 2020 he sold the pedal at an auction.

Jeff Toste: “Thematically it’s, overall, an internal and external existential therapy session. Dealing with a history of mental health issues and how to feel sane in an insane world”.

Turn Up The Volume: I first came across this red-hot-riff-roaring blues rock duo when
Clap Of Thunder , one of this record’s sizzling singles made my stereo shake. And, now, here’s their 3rd longplayer groovin’ and movin’ through my speakers like a rollercoaster, forth and back, quiet/Loud/quiet/Loud, with a series of bloodcurdling mood swings, fired-up now and then with psychotic guitar-charged hooks, then again taking a sonic step back and let their crystal clear reflections about our fucked-up world do the talking.

This black-colored, doom-and-gloom garage swamp blues body of work isn’t about the birds and the bees isn’t about pink misleading stories, isn’t about playing hide-and-seek and pretending that everything is just fine. No, this album is about our grim reality, about 2022, about waking up and realizing that the only way to survive is by standing together and at least try to make it work for everybody, not only for the privileged ones.
